Hello, my name is Michael Kessman, people call me Mikey Maker.  I’m originally from Long Island New York and I moved to Boston late in 1999 to study Civil Engineering at Northeastern University, from which I received my BS in Civil Engineering in 2004.  Now you can say I’m, Made in Boston.  As a child growing up on Long Island there were two things I found myself staring at through car windows while stuck in traffic, graffiti and construction.  Trust me, I spent a lot of time stuck in traffic in Long Island!  While in College in Boston I learned to hone my skills in regards to both of the things.  As an Engineer I’ve learned to produce technical drawings for construction purposes and physically see those plans come to fruition.  As an artists my work took a turn away from street art towards the direction of twisted geometrical forms that can not be physically constructed.  I enjoy portraying simple geometrical forms in a complex manner when related to each other bringing to light the optical illusions they produce.  Now, having found myself unemployed and not working as a Civil Engineer, I’ve taken a new career path, one of a Silk Screen Printer.  I’m currently working out of my shop in Allston which I share with my girlfriend.  I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for stopping by and invite you to check out my sites content where you can see examples of my painted and printed art.  Please feel free to send me an email if you have any questions or comments or if you would like more info regarding silk screen printing.
